THE CONTRACEPTIVE PILL: GOOD, BAD & UGLY

A Hormonal Illusion of FREEDOM & AUTONOMY.

Trends in society to be conscious of choices made daily from ingesting and exposing or bodies to the “organic” & “free range “cult followers" stresses current knowledge and understanding to TREAT your body like a TEMPLE, or at least try to.

BUT it is not clearly defined when it comes to the “Contraceptive Pill”; we tend to turn a blind eye when  reducing artificial consumptions of hormones for lifestyle convenience.

Let's be frank, when it comes modern society sexual habits, society norms and rules are constantly warping.  From being married to one person for a lifetime to having multiple relationships and connections.

Uhem, a polite way of saying friends with benefits or physical long-term relationships, with the freedom to opt out of bearing a child.

It is not as simple as thinking that the PILL just has simple possible side effects from blood clot to simple emotional changes. It may in fact be shaping your character, personality and choices in daily life!

FEMALES can faint whilst ovulating/period transition. Some mainly just take the PILL from a young age for reducing period pain, lethargy and to improve their lifestyle in general, and especially to deal with the multiple factors of the modern day world.

STILL!

What are the Psychological, Neurological & Philosophical issues that CURRENT science suggests?

In reality NEW RESEARCH & SCIENCE argues the possibility that in fact PUMPING ARTIFICIAL HORMONES  or “THE PILL may be a contributing factor to trigger the increasing number of mental disorders e.g. depression.

Neuroscience supports the notion that pumping any drugs or hormones into your body persistently over a long time will change the composition of your cells and, in essence, can be a TICKING TIME BOMB!

Society in general accepts the side effects of THE PILL as the NORM, and this results in many females dismissing the symptoms they may feel due to SOCIETAL EXPECTATIONS whilst on/withdrawing from the pill as NORMAL.

We don't want unwanted pregnancies, especially unplanned teen pregnancies.

As a society, we need an effective and realistic solution. As with a lot of medicine & politics, sometimes the things promoted  to us are not always the best solution to the problem.

Evolution determines the hormonal attraction that naturally occurs e.g. studies support the notion that during ovulation preference for masculine & genetically different males dominates, whilst males tend to find naturally ovulating females more attractive than ones that don’t!

THE PILL = A Permanent change in biology? Or permanent changes in development & personality, especially in developing females?

From the 1960s humans reached a pinnacle point, where autonomy and sense of freedom was instilled by THE PILL and was being promoted as the new trend. Females arguably were LIBERATED and less TRAPPED SOCIALLY.

NB: have you ever dated the wrong guy? ... mmmm well, technically, you could say "IT WAS NOT ME, IT WAS THE PILL, SORRY!"

HOWEVER, new science would argue that it can also somewhat trap or PER-DETERMINE partner choice.

So, when taking the “PILL” its artificial hormones would impact your natural choice to perhaps a less attractive partner!

SIDE EFFECTS that are most concerning, however, are the mental implications from feeling low to developing DEPRESSION.

The Philosophical considerations behind the PILL of POLITICS & SCIENCE really should be considered alongside neuroscience and psychology. Once introduced to THE PILL, are our actions more WILLED rather than FREE, from our partner choices to daily life?

THE PILL may offer sexual freedom, perhaps better skin, hair, breast size or weight! Or perhaps the opposite!

BUT the SIDE EFFECTS start first within your biological networks (psychologically) & then, over time, can carry on to PHYSICAL DEFECTS, ranging from impacting nutritional abilities to actually reducing BONE DENSITY.

The PILL may not be ADDICTIVE, but in essence there are many cases of females returning to the PILL after WITHDRAWING to avoid the SIDE EFFECTS, regardless of the implications.

One could argue that some PHYSICAL effects, such as HAIR LOSS, BLOATED GUT etc, are aesthetic that should return after a period of time; but this has PSYCHOLOGICAL implications on females after prolonged experience of these SIDE EFFECTS.

HAIR LOSS, THINNING & REDUCTION is VERY COMMON. It can happen WHILST taking/withdrawing from THE PILL.

Like ANY DRUG, a person's individual reaction & recovery is UNKNOWN.

LOSS of SLEEP draws parallels with SUBSTANCE ABUSE - the recovery can be from 1 month to perhaps 2 years!

Once females been taking the PILL for SEVERAL YEARS, they keep changing or go through menopause. At this point it's most likely for females to feel the biggest amount/effect of SIDE EFFECTS.

NEUROSCIENCE's notion of UP & DOWN regulation of your body/brain cells, supports the fact that THE PILL is not a sustainable lifestyle!

So taking ANY FORM of contraceptive  which is pumping in artificial hormones WILL IMPACT your BIOLOGY, and this WILL CAUSE SIDE EFFECTS that may be experienced for 1yrs+ before your body can normalise.

This BLOG POST does not advocate we should or should not take ANY FORM of CONTRACEPTIVE that plays with our hormones.

BUT it does highlight the CONSIDERATIONS before you decide to join the daily PILL POPPING culture.

PUT SIMPLY:

There is more to the contraceptive pills than simply worrying about BLOOD CLOTS.

The SIDE EFFECTS may not be instant; but, in essence, they are arguably still a significant factor when considering a female's MENTAL HEALTH and DEVELOPMENT.
